Hello all,
Can any one tell me-
Are long URLs bad for SEO?
Does the length of the URLs do more harm to SEO than the benefit gained by including good content in the URL?

Microsoft Internet Explorer has a maximum uniform resource locator (URL) length of 2,083 characters. Internet Explorer also has a maximum path length of 2,048 characters. This limit applies to both POST request and GET request URLs.

URL should not exceed a certain number of characters i.e. 2,083

URL should be short, precise and keyword based. I think up to 20 characters is enough.

URL length must be under 75 characters including http:// for better optimization.

For SEO purpose, characters for url can be of 75.

What was going on?
Of course, I kept digging. I found more and more and more examples of these URLs. “Why are they doing this, and what’s the average length?” I thought to myself.
I did a bit of number crunching and here is what I found:

Different Browers have different length parameters from URL. But, keep it in between of 2080 characters

URL length can be max 2300 characters for better ranking in Google, Bing & Yahoo.
