Yes, it do impact on SEO. Google crawler cannot crawl image so it need to have Alt tag (name to the image, keyword) and title tag from search engine and user experience point of view respectively. Alt Tag will help in on page optimization and keyword ranking. Images should not be too large otherwise it can affect to load your website.
