Bounce rate is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave rather than continuing to view other pages within the same site. Bounce rate is basically calculated on how much time a person spends on your site.

Bounce rate is the percentage rate of visitors forthcoming to your website. Bounce rate is measured in either determining the number of people who visit your website but “bounce” before exploring other web pages other than the landing page or determining which users leave the website after only a brief time span, generally five seconds.

All of the answers are correct: the user visits your site but doesn't visit any other page = bounce. However, from a search engine and SEO point of view, that's not 100% correct. The way Google calculates the bounce rate is in line with all the current answers provided. A user visits your site but doesn't navigate to a second page = bounce.

However take this example, what if the user visits a page on your site and stays for 10 mins? obviously what brought them to your site sufficiently satisfied their initial query. Why would Google then see that as a bounce and use it in the calculation for your bounce rate of the site? Its fundamentally flawed. The user didn't technically bounce in actual fact you addressed his query which is why they stayed for 10 mins.

What you can do is add in scroll events for say every 30 seconds a visitor is on your site OR even scroll events. These events trigger and essentially tell Google that this visit isn't a bounce. That should give you a true reflection of your sites actual bounce rate. You can add these in via tag manager if your using it OR even simpler if your using a WordPress based site search the plugin directory and you'll find a plugin that can help you.

Bounce rate is one of the most misunderstood metrics in Google Analytics. Bounce rate is the percentage of single page visits (or web sessions). It is the percentage of visits in which a person leaves your website from the landing page without browsing any further.

Bounce rate is single-page sessions divided by all sessions, or the percentage of all sessions on your site in which users viewed only a single page and triggered only a single request to the Analytics server.

In Web analytics, including Google Analytics, bounce rate is the measurement in percentage of how many Web site visitors view only one page within your Web site – this is the one page they entered the site on (called the entrance page or landing page). These visitors view only that single page and exit the site on that same page. A high bounce rate typically indicates that the landing page isn't relevant to your visitor or you are not offering any incentive for the visitor to explore other areas and pages of your website.

Bounce Rate is generally a term used in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) field. It means when a user visits any website's home page and returns back from the same home page without visiting other pages of the website (https://cloudhulk.com/). Bounce Rate should always be lower, meaning a visitor should usually not return from the home page and spend some time exploring the website. For this it requires to have a very good content on the website, as they say, "Content is the King" for any website. The content should create some value for the visitor, it should be engaging and interesting plus plagiarism should be avoided so as to reduce the bounce rate.
