Linking Root Domains are the number of unique domains linking to your domain or page. Multiple backlinks from a single domain will be grouped and counted as a one linking root domain. By filtering incoming links based on root domains, you get an accurate overview of your backlink profile.

Linking domains is the total number of domains linking back to you. Inbound links are the total number of links you actually have. Each domain could be linking to you from different pages on their site, adding up to the total "inbound links".

When a site links to another one or more than one time in Search Engine Optimization, site A is said to be a linking root domain; the plural, linking root domains is the total number of separate links that link once or more than once to a given site. If a domain links to a site more than once it is still counted as just one linking root domain.

Connecting spaces is the aggregate number of areas connecting back to you. Inbound connections are the aggregate number of connections you really have. Every area could be connecting to you from various pages on their site, signifying the aggregate "inbound connections".

On the linking root domain only the domains that point to your website are counted.

For example, someone that uses a particular blog to send backlinks no matter how many articles he writes and inserts links when the algorithm counts the backlinks it will count as only one root link all the links from the same domain.
