The average amount that you've been charged for a click on your ad. Average cost-per-click (avg. CPC) is calculated by dividing the total cost of your clicks by the total number of clicks.Your average CPC is based on your actual cost-per-click (actual CPC), which is the actual amount you're charged for a click on your ad. Note that your average CPC might be different than your maximum cost-per-click (max. CPC), which is the highest amount that you're willing to pay for a click.

Basically, you can calculate your “ad rank” by multiplying your bid by your quality score. For example, if you have a quality score of 10 and you bid $1.96 for “blue jeans,” then your ad rank is 19.6 (10 x 1.96).

Cost per click, which usually goes by the acronym of CPC, has two different meanings. For a search engine, the term cost per click means how much the search engine charges advertisers each time a visitor clicks on a sponsored link. Cost per click can also mean the total cost accrued by the advertiser when the ad is clicked on, from just listing the ad to the additional cost of the click-through on the part of the visitor.

the way the actual cpc is calculated has not changed but quality score has changed slightly since now the impact of ad extensions is factored into the expected CTR of your Ad.
