Referral links are links which guide a person into the signup page of a server. Referral links can be useful for 2 purposes.

Utilize the referral connection to track the foundation of signups. The referral link could be posted onto a site, emailed, etc.. This helps track the most useful sources of signups or determine the individual or group users up through.

Utilize the referral link to guide prospective users where you should sign up and automatically adds them to a subscriptions account and/or community. Identify a subscriptions account or community which you would really like anybody who uses the URL. This eliminates the need to add them to a subscriptions account or community in the future.

Referral links are unique links that direct an individual to your server’s signup page enabling them to create an account on your server. Referral links can be used for two purposes.

Identify a specific subscriptions account and/or community that you would like anyone who uses the link to be part of. Create Channel

A Channel is a way to group the Referrals together for various reports. If there are groups of users, multiple Referrals can be assigned to one Channel. There can also be a Channel per Referral.

To create a tracking link a Channel and Referral must be created. Through the tracking link the UCS Manager Admin has the ability to track where a signup comes from and add a subscriptions account and/or community to a signup link. Adding a subscriptions account and/or community to the link causes the user to automatically be part of the subscriptions account and/or community when they sign up through the link.

Open Account - Channel Manager.



Select Add New Channel.
Leave Sales Channel ID as is.
Add Channel Name – something descriptive and easily identifiable.



Create the Referral
Open Account - Referrals Manager.



Select Add New Referral.



Enter Referral Name – This will be the identifier on the end of the Referral URL.
Keep the name short as possible.
Must be unique.
No spaces.
All lower case.
Select the Sales Channel create in step 4.
Continue to "Add the Account ID" and/or "Add the Community ID" if you would like users to automatically be added to an account or community when they sign up through the referral link.
Click Submit to create the Referral

Adding an Account ID automatically adds any user to the designated subscription account when they use the referral link to create a Visimeet user account.
Open Account - Account Manager.



Select the Account and click Edit Account.
Select Manage Users.
Highlight and copy the ID.



Open Account-Referrals Manager.
Select the desired Referral from the list.
Paste the ID into the Account ID Field.
Click Submit.

Add the Community ID

Adding a Community ID automatically adds any user to the designated community when they use the referral link to create a Visimeet user account. All community members can see one another on the Visimeet application; this gives them the ability to communicate.
Open Manage - Communities.



Click "Search Community" to open list of Communities or enter the name of the Community and hit enter.
Select the Community from the list and hit Edit.
Highlight and copy the ID.



Open Account - Referrals Manager.
Select the desired Referral from the list.
Enter the ID into the Community ID field.
Hit Submit.
