Google Sandbox is a filter placed on new websites as a result of which, a site does not receive good rankings for its most important keywords or phrases. Even with good content, a site is may still significantly affected by the Sandbox effect. A site is sandboxed when it is new and does not rank for the keyword phrases that are not incredibly competitive in Google.

Google was the first search tool suspected of setting up a penalizing system aimed at fighting against malicious referents whose job was to manipulate the engine index in order to obtain the best rankings in the results pages. If the sand box effect has long been considered as an urban legend, we now know with feedback that Google has a system against cheating very penalizing for anyone who wants to risk luring him.

The sandbox is a "punishment" inflicted by Google (and only this engine, it seems), sites that have used "dishonest" techniques to try to win positions in the results researches.

This "punishment" may apply to the entire site and to all terms that these pages contain. It would be caused by abuse in relation to the pagerank .

The Google sandbox indicates to a commonly held belief that Google has a filter that places all new websites under restrictions for a certain amount of time to avoid them from Google ranking. The idea behind the Google sandbox is that, the newer websites are not as significant as original ones; this is the idea behind the Google sandbox.
