Saw this same debate elsewhere, and it became pretty apparent that there are certain services that just cannot be unlimited. There is always a limit somewhere along the line. It may be so high they don't expect anyone to require it though.

For example, unlimited bandwidth. Impossible. There has to be a maximum they have the ability to cope with.

I agree with you're post completely. But not all web hosts that offer 'unlimited' plans are bad a good example is HostGator.

Even the domains, emails, sub-domains are limited because they are limited by how much space is allowed on the hosting account.

Unlimited – what a great word. It holds with it the imagination of never having to shop around again. A warm feeling stays with you as you continue to build up your collection of websites. Very good point for people who do not the truth about unlimited resources. It is a shame so many of the big names have gone the way of fronting with the unlimited resources as well. this is a low point for the hosting industry.
