What are the differences between Nofollow links and Dofollow links? We already have it clear about what link building is and backlinks are. Well, things get a little more complicated.

Getting inbound links is important both to let you know and for Google to recognize you as a relevant website. Now, you can distinguish two types of links that are known as do follow links and no follow links.

To the naked eye they are the same; they do not interfere with the user and both benefit you. Nevertheless, the main difference between dofollow links and nofollow links lies in whether they transmit power, otherwise known as link juice.

Dofollow links are those links which do not contain Rel=”Nofollow” attribute. These links have the potential to improve the ranking & credibility of your website in search engines. If a webmaster is linking back to you with this type of link, then both Search Engine and Humans will be able to follow you. Nofollow Link is exactly the opposite.

Do follow and no follow are link attributes and contain instructions for search engine robots. Do follow links are crawled and indexed in search engines whereas no follow links are never crawled and indexed in search engines.

Nofollow links exist because we don’t want every single webpage or link to be something a search engine crawls and ranks. Therefore, nofollow link attributes tell search engine bots not to follow a certain link. The link is still clickable for a user, but not followed by a bot. On the other hand, all other links could be considered dofollow links.
