Contextual backlinks are links to external websites that are placed within the main or primary content of a web page. Contextual backlinks come naturally within content. They are not links that are placed within the navigation, sidebars, widgets, footer or ads.

First of all, understand that there is no "easy way". Sorry to disappoint you.

Just like you, everybody else is also competing for good spots for contextual backlinks from popular blogs and influencers. If you want to get them, you must be very good.

The best advice I can give you is to create super awesome and high-quality content in your niche. Once you do that, you will automatically start receiving natural, contextual backlinks. This is a passive technique, however.

On the other hand, you can also actively work on generating more contextual backlinks.

How?

There are plenty of ways. For example:

You can publish guest posts on other blogs that are in your niche. In your guest-post, you can create a contextual backlink to one of the relevant posts that is published on your blog. It's a simple yet highly effective way to generate a completely natural backlink.
On the other hand, if you can't get an opportunity to land a guest-post, you can contact a well-established blogger and let them know that you have published a very useful blog post that their readers will find extremely helpful. Once you have established contact, subtly mention that you'd highly appreciate if they could mention about your website (or newly published blog post) in one of their posts. More often than not, if your post is really superb, you won't even have to ask this. If it is good, most bloggers would create a link on their own.
You can search for broken links on popular websites and blogs in your niche. If you find a broken link, you can contact the owner of the website to let them know about it. While doing that, present your blog post (it must be relevant) as an alternative to that broken link. Most bloggers will thank you for identifying a broken link on their website and would gladly use your link. Use Check My Links (a Google Chrome extension) for easily identifying broken links on any web page.
