Canonization is the act by which a Christian church declares that a person who has died was a saint, upon which declaration the person is included in the list of recognized saints, called the "canon".

Canonization is the act by which the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodoxy, Roman Catholic, or Anglican Church declares that a person who has died was a saint, upon which declaration the person is included in the canon, or list, of recognized saints.

canonicalization refers to individual web pages that can be loaded from multiple URLs. This is a problem because when multiple pages have the same content but different URLs, links that are intended to go to the same page get split up among multiple URLs

"It is already clear from the above-published comments that canonization is the process of being canonized as a saint in the Christian church. Now the question is, how do we define canonization?
At present, as I know, to determine which of the ascetics of piety is actually canonized and which is entered from synodical and books, where the names of saints are mixed with the names of non-canonized ascetics, one must know exactly what documents have a binding canonical character to decide this question. As I understand from the discussions at https://firstchurchlove.com, this document leads to the official veneration of the saint throughout the church. His name is then included in liturgical calendars, a feast may be dedicated to him, and special titles of honor such as patron of a local church or monastic order may be bestowed upon him."
