Hi Friends,
A spider is a program that visits Web sites and reads their pages and other information in order to create entries for a search engine index. Spiders are called spiders because they usually visit many sites in parallel at the same time, their "legs" spanning a large area of the "web."

The spiders called crawlers, are used by Internet search engines to collect information about Web sites and individual Web pages. They crawl through the Internet and create queues of Web sites and the spider reads through all the text, hyperlinks, meta tags on each website they reach and provides a profile to the search engine about these website.

The spider is an ancient symbol of mystery, power and growth. ... Just as the spider weaves a web, so too must we weave our own lives. The spider symbol meaning here serves as a reminder that our choices construct our lives. When the spider appears to us, it is a message to be mindful of the choices we are making.

It does indeed bite quite hard. Steotoda genus members have a venom that is very similar to the widow spiders. (People who are really seriously affected have sometimes been treated with Latrodecrtus antivenom with good results.) This spider appears to be the false black widow, called a “cupboard spider” in GB.
A better/more reliable source of information for those seriously interested in getting it right would be:
Order Araneae - Spiders
There is no hype about "the ten most deadliest spiders ever to threaten your life" that some exterminators put out. (There four or five general world-wide that sometimes produce fatalities, and some old-world tarantulas that will make you feel like dying. However, there are no spiders that will "come after you."
How did you get bitten? I'm guessing you reached into a cabinet of some kind and picked the lady up with your can of tea, or maybe you were working around a web, knocked her to the ground and she blundered up your leg. (Most of the web weavers I've played with are acutely sensitive to things they might land on that are warmer than ambient temperature. If I try to get one to land mid-descent from its silken line, it will hit my palm, get alarmed, run for the edge, and jump off.) As with when I open bee hives, I favor tucking trouser legs into socks when there is a danger of something going up the wrong way.
