This question has already been asked in regards with Website Ranking, in other way so I’’m referring you to the link of that answer which is written by me.
Link: James Lloyd's answer to Does HTTPS really help in website ranking?
Lastly, you already might be knowing the value of https based URLS, so I would say yes it helps you to gain the confidence of user, because by showing that you have installed SSL Certificate, it says that you care for the data of your website and also about the visitors.
I hope it helps.

everyone seems to believe that having an SSL website will magically help them rank in Google search results. If a website is not ranking in its current state, adding SSL won't help. However many newer bloggers seem to believe that they need it to rank but they aren't taking other necessary steps for SEO.
