A dimension is the attribute of visitors to your website. For example, let's say a man aged between 25-34 from London visited your website after clicking on an organic search listing on Google which he found by searching for the keyword 'attribution modelling'.

Dimensions are ways to view and segment qualitative data in Google Analytics, used in tandem with metrics. For example, the metric bounce rate could be viewed through dimension value landing page in a report that helps ecommerce merchants understand which pages lead users to further explore their website.

Dimensions are attributes of your data. These attributes can be used to describe, segment, organize, and sort the data. Examples of dimensions include Medium, Browser, Country, Language, Campaign, Device Category.
Each dimension accepts different values. For example, the dimension ‘Device Category’ indicates the type of device used to visit a website. It shows desktop, mobile, and tablet as values, and can help sort traffic between these three devices.

A dimension is the attribute of visitors to your website. Google Analytics displays data in its reports, usually in the form of a table. Each row of the table represents a dimension.
