I recognized that marblehost.com offers the choice of PHP versions - 4 and 5.
My client is going to use their services and don't know what will be better for him.
Can you help me guys in this case?

Of course php5.
Most scripts should be written for php5 if they were done in the last year or two either way. Most php4 scripts arent that supported any longer anyways

I recommend choosing PHP 5 for sure. generally, i always go for the latest updated versions in all software.

Most PHP installations out there are still running PHP 4.x. PHP 5.0 has been out a while, and PHP 5.1.1 has just been released. For those of you who haven't yet upgraded, this month I look at some of the changes you can expect to find in the newer versions of PHP, as well as a preview of what you can look forward to in PHP 6.

Go with the version your web application require. As rule that is not latest. And the latest is not the best in here.

i think php5(latest) is good for you and your clients.
- php5 means better then older versions :)
First of all I would like to say that your client is going to make a good choice of hosting provider because marblehost.com is reliable company.
I would like to say that your client should contact their support and tell them his specific needs, no doubt, they will offer him them best option.

If your client is still using any php4 scripts that could be a sign of trouble to come. Such as if they're using php4 scripts still because they're too frugal to upgrade their systems. You might find they suddenly have trouble paying their bills or justifying why they've hired you.

PHP 4 is no longer under development nor will any security updates be released. ... In 2008, PHP 5 became the only stable version under development. .... work with MySQL, fileinfo as a replacement for mime_magic for better MIME support, ...

Well done!
First of all I would like to say that marblehost.com is reliable company.
It provides 99.9% network uptime, nice support services, offers many free bonuses.
PHP 5 will be much better choice, but you'd better contact their support and get all the things cleared with them.

It is a good idea to speak with the company's representative to get all the things cleared with them. marblehost.com is known as all-inclusive hosting provider - customers' safety is the main goal for them. So contact them for further details.

PHP5 has also received a number of improvements that make the language more robust, secure, faster and easier to code with. The advantages of PHP5 doesn’t necessarily mean that version 4 makes a bad choice.
