It certainly does, but it's not a magic formula or anything like it used to be. You still have to provide good content and hit all the other ranking factors to have it matter. But as far as ranking goes, domain name seems to be a rather important factor. After all, if you have a product or service, odds are the domain name will have something to do with it.
