Well a fake link could just be random characters… or something that looks legit. If you are referring to links that don’t work there are two kinds - those that did work but have changed and those who don’t have the correct format and are nailed by Search http://error.com - a horrible site that Sprint Internet uses that interrupts thousands of good links that work everywhere except Sprint.
Other than that I do not see your question clearly. If you wish to comment, Please do so !!!

A basic link is created by wrapping the text or other content, see Block level links, inside an <a> element and using the href attribute, also known as a Hypertext Reference, or target, that contains the web address

If you just want to format existing text into a hyperlink: Select the text that you want to turn into a hyperlink, and right-click it. On the shortcut menu, click Hyperlink. In the Insert Hyperlink dialog, paste the link in the Address box and click OK.
