Doorways are sites or pages created to rank highly for specific search queries. They are bad for users because they can lead to multiple similar pages in user search results, where each result ends up taking the user to essentially the same destination.

Doorway pages are a set of very similar, multiple pages that target similar keyword phrases or variations of multiple keyword phrases. They are usually created in bulk by simply replacing some part of the keyword phrase.

Doorway is a network optimization technique that has a bad record. It allows you get high traffic level almost free with maximum process automation. However, a lot of "junk" content is produced when using it, neither search engines nor users are friendly to it.
