External Links: From Site A > Site B (Different Domain)

External links point from one domain to an entirely separate domain. They may be links from your website to another website to provide additional information for readers, or they may be links from your website to an affiliate program. ... Internal = links that point to content within the same domain.

Internal Links and external links are different.
Internal Links: These links are the links which are linked from one page of your website to another page of your website.
External Links: These links are the links which are linked to another website ( Not your website ).
