What counts as a position placeholder?

Hi,
Only elements containing at least one non-query-refinement link count as a position; elements that have no links, or have only query refinement links, do not occupy a position. For example, a carousel of van Gogh paintings are not counted as position placeholders, and their presence does not affect the position value of elements below them on the page. If a non-positional carousel had appeared in the example above above the AMP page carousel, it would not affect the position values anywhere on the page.
On the other hand, some image thumbnails in the main search page do lead to a web page, and so count as a position placeholder. For example, a featured snippet has a link to the source property, and so it occupies position 1. Note that ads do not occupy a search position.

The placeholder attribute specifies a short hint that describes the expected value of a input field / textarea.

The placeholder attribute specifies a short hint that describes the expected value of a input field / textarea. The short hint is displayed in the field before the user enters a value.
