Panda: The Panda update was introduced to lower the rank of sites with poor content quality and improve the performance of higher quality sites. It is updated time to time.
Penguin: Penguin is a machine learning algorithm. It was launched to penalise websites that use spammy backlinks or low-quality backlinks.

Hi Friends,
The Panda update is a filter that is designed to penalize “thin” or poor content from ranking well. Whereas Penguin is a filter that is designed to penalize websites that have bad link building techniques and keyword stuffing.

Google's Panda Update is a search filter introduced in February 2011 meant to stop sites with poor quality content from working their way into Google's top search results. Panda is updated from time-to-time. When this happens, sites previously hit may escape, if they've made the right changes.

While Panda assesses your actual content, Penguin looks at how your website has been promoted. ... In other words, hummingbird looks at the context of your website or blog and determines if it has relevant information for the person performing the Google search.
