If you have just launched your website and are in search of finding some useful tools to learn of the business terms and their monthly search status, using the Google AdWords plus Wordtracker could be useful. Although the numbers may not be 100% accurate but they definitely would provide a general theme and image of the monthly search trends over the net and then you could choose your primary web terms.

The best tool is https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. You can also use www.google.com/insights/search/ for a better search volume according to the reagion.
There are many other tools but google tools are the most reliable.
I mean in the free sector.

HI
Well, searching alone isn't going to show you how much competition a keyword has. Your best bet is to look at the search results to see how optimized the top ranking site for your keywords is. This will show you how hard you're going to have to work to get to the top.

Then you can look at how optimized the site at the 9th or 10th position is. This'll tell you how hard it's going to be to break into the first page. When you're looking at your competitors, it's important to look at both on-page and off-page factors. In my opinion, off-page factors (link count, relevancy, anchor text etc.) hold more weight.

Hello 2 sites I use for this are.
http://www.seocentro.com/tools/search-engines/keyword-position.html
http://www.googleposition.com/

Very helpful and reveal a lot of info but!

Just use Googles Webmaster Tools and click on Keywords to see how you are ranking for lots of different keywords and long tail keywords.
