PageRank is Google’s system of counting link votes and determining which pages are most important based on them. These scores are then used along with many other things to determine if a page will rank well in a search.

A PageRank score of 0 is typically a low-quality website, whereas, on the other hand, a score of 10 would represent only the most authoritative sites on the web

PageRank 5 websites have a good number of inbound links, PR 3 and PR 4 sites have a fair amount, and brand new websites without any inbound links pointing to them start at PageRank 0.

Hello,
In simple words - PageRank is an algorithm used by Google Search to rank websites in their search engine results. "PageRank" was named after Larry Page, one of the founders of Google. "PageRank" is a way of measuring the importance of website pages. It basically helps Google to estimate the probability of browsing each site on the internet.
Don’t get confused between Google Page Ranking and Google PageRank. Both are different terms. Google Page Ranking refers to Google's ranking system for ranking webpages in its organic search results, which takes more than hundreds of signals or factors into consideration.
Google’s Page Rank algorithm provides weight to every incoming link a web page gets. That’s why backlinks are so important for better S. Every incoming link increases Page rank, while links from pages with high page rank have high weight and matter more, links from pages with just a few outgoing links matter more.
There are many other factors that are kept strictly confidential by Google. However, some of those factors which are significant in Page Ranking are - the domain age, keyword in the domain name, legitimate & complete WHOIS information, valid contact info on the website, length of the domain renewal period, IP address change history etc.
I hope this will helps you.
