Google remarketing is the technology that enables your Google Ads to follow potential customers as they move across the internet. When a user visits, a small snippet of code (remarketing code) on your website adds them to a remarketing list. Then when they visit another website that uses the Google Ad network, they are served your ad. Google allows you to customize who sees your remarketed ads. For example, you can prioritize new or returning customers.

Remarketing is a way to connect with people who previously interacted with your website or mobile app. It allows you to strategically position your ads in front of these audiences as they browse Google or its partner websites, thus helping you increase your brand awareness or remind those audiences to make a purchase.

Remarketing (also known as retargeting) is the tactic of serving targeted ads to people who have already visited or taken action on your website. In terms of technical execution, remarketing is the process of using a javascript tag (known as a pixel) to place a cookie in the user's browser.

Google Adwords Remarketing are ads or follow-up emails you get from a business after you check out their site but don’t make a purchase.

But not all of those people who have visited your site disappear because they're disinterested in what you have to offer. Maybe they’re taking time to think about it, aren't sure if want to spend the money, or ran out of time to shop.

Remarketing lets you reach out to these past visitors, offer them a targeted incentive, and hopefully convert them into customers.

Remarketing within Google is a specific use of the wider Google Display (formerly content) network. When remarketing is set up & configured it allows you to target people that visited your website with adverts on other website which have opted into displaying adverts from the Display Network.
