When is the optimum time to upgrade from a shared server to a dedicated one?
Any recommendations for reputable German server providers?

It depends on the nature of the company or whether it has developed to the point where it needs to be able to handle increased traffic. When switching server types, one of the most critical considerations is security.
In Germany, OBHost (https://www.obhost.net/) offers web hosting. I recommend purchasing hosting from OBHost since they have a physical server in Germany that guarantees no downtime and provides professional help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Instead of a dedicated server. You should switch to VPS because actually, you do not need such a huge resource that required a dedicated server unless your website became so popular within a few days.

Dedicated hosting is used in cases where the hosting you currently have cannot handle the volume of traffic that is coming to the website. So If the volume of traffic on your site is increasing or is already increasing and is increasing, it's the time to upgrade to dedicated server.
I found cloudarion.com (https://cloudarion.com/) web host and needed to transfer my files to their VPS hosting account. I couldn't have done it without the support team, their replies were quick and the instructions were easy to follow, which made it possible for even a non-techie like me to do. They have stable servers located in Germany.

Dedicated servers are hands-down the best solution for businesses that really want their resources and business components dedicated solely to themselves. If your website has sensitive data or you simply need more speed, control, and power, it's a great idea to upgrade to a dedicated server.
Hello,
When you are running out of space then you need to switch from VPS (https://www.vps9.net/kvm-linux-vps)to Dedicated Server (https://www.vps9.net/russia-servers), because till some limit your Hosing provider can provide you additional space but it is limited(in GBs). If you need more space along with dedicated network line. It's time to switch to Dedicated Server (https://www.vps9.net/netherlands-servers).

If your website is experiencing these issues, you might consider using a dedicated server.

One of the primary reasons that businesses migrate to dedicated hosting is traffic. Aside from that, if a user is looking for a complete, exclusive environment in which resources such as bandwidth, hard disc storage, memory, and so on are not shared with anyone else, he or she may choose a dedicated server.

When your website demands more power or bandwidth than your current hosting package provides, it's time to upgrade to a dedicated server (https://www.accuwebhosting.com/dedicated-servers). But, again, upgrading ahead of time will save you from such problems.
