Page speed is also important to user experience. Pages with a longer load time tend to have higher bounce rates and lower average time on page. Longer load times have also been shown to negatively affect conversions.

Hello Friends,
Page speed is the measure of how fast the content on your site loads for a user. It is important because the pages that load faster are more efficient and offer a better on-page user experience. Google also considers page speed while ranking websites.
Many factors that affect or relate to page speed:
Page size
Images, video, and heavy files
Excess code and Javascript
Load time
Time to First Byte (TTFB)
Round Trip Time (RTT)
Last Contentful Paint

Page speed is important because search engines look at that and bounce rate. If your site is slow people leave and do not stay on your site long. Also make sure that the content they are looking for on your site is easy to find and above the fold so they do not have to scroll down to see information they are looking for.
Word press blogs can be faster with less apps and website can use less java script and large images and videos so pages load faster.

Page speed is the time consuming while a webpage loading, it should be as quick as possible. It's an important on-page SEO factor.

When you go to open any website, how much time will it take to open or load..? This is page loading speed. Your website needs to load in 3 seconds. If it takes more time, then the website's bounce rate will increase, meaning people will not visit the website after clicking the website because it taking more time for page loading.
