Other than Web Assembly is there anything new about PWAs and SPAs?
I do not understand how Blockchain technology is relevant to websites except for being one of thousands of types of applications.
I do not know what is new about a Dark Mode UI, other than a new type of theme.
Something I would consider significant is server-side applications that do not depend on the original CGI protocol. Doing that will be difficult but potentially very useful.

Top Web Development Trends for 2022
As we move into the second half of 2021, it's time to start thinking about the web development trends that will shape the industry in the year ahead. Here are five of the most important trends that businesses need to be aware of as we head into 2022.
1. Artificial Intelligence and Chatbots
2. Motion UI
3. Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)
4. Single-Page Applications (SPAs)
5. Modified and Customized Search Engines
1. Artificial Intelligence and Chatbots
Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer just a buzzword; it's becoming increasingly commonplace in everyday life, and that includes the world of web development. In fact, AI is expected to have a profound impact on web development in the years to come, with chatbots being one of the most visible applications of this technology.
Chatbots are computer programs that mimic human conversation, and they're being used by an increasing number of businesses to provide customer support, promote products and services, and even close sales. Thanks to advances in AI, chatbots are now able to handle more complex tasks such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), which allows them to understand human conversation more effectively. As a result, chatbots are becoming more and more realistic, making them an invaluable tool for businesses looking to improve their customer service.
2. Motion UI
Motion UI is a library of pre-built animations that can be used to add interactivity to websites and apps. It was originally developed by ZURB, a digital design agency, but it has since been made available as an open-source project. Motion UI is built on top of Sass, a CSS pre-processor, which makes it easy to create sophisticated animations without having to write large amounts of code.
One of the key benefits of Motion UI is that it helps create an immersive user experience by making websites and apps more interactive. This is especially important given the growing popularity of touchscreens and virtual reality devices. In addition, Motion UI can be used to add micro-interactions, which are small animations that provide feedback to users when they perform certain actions on a website or app (such as hovering over a button). These micro-interactions help improve the overall user experience by making it more engaging and intuitive.
3. Progressive Web Apps
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are websites that look and feel like native mobile apps but don't require users to install them first. They're designed to work offline as well as online, which makes them ideal for businesses with limited or no internet connectivity. PWAs are also much smaller in size than traditional mobile apps, which means they take up less space on users' devices and can be downloaded faster.
4. Single-Page Applications (SPAs)
Single-Page Applications (SPAs) are web applications that load all content on a single page instead of each time a user navigates to a new page within the app. The main advantage of SPAs is that they're much faster than traditional multi-page web applications because they don't have to continually reload content each time a user interacts with them. This makes SPAs ideal for businesses that need to provide a fast and responsive user experience, such as eCommerce stores or news sites.
5. Modified and Customized Search Engines With so many different search engines on the market today, it can be difficult for businesses to choose one that's right for them. However, there's an increasing trend towards modified and customized search engines that are specifically tailored to meet the needs of specific businesses or industries. For example, there are now search engines designed specifically for eCommerce stores, news sites, job boards, etc. By using a modified or customized search engine, businesses can ensure that their website is being seen by people who are already interested in what they have to offer.,
As we move into 2022, there are several key web development trends that businesses need to be aware of if they want to stay ahead of the curve.

Seeing the world has never been easier, thanks to the power of VR technology. I recently experienced a Halosphere VR Travel (https://techbuzzireland.com/2025/01/28/halosphere-vr-review-unlocking-the-worlds-hidden-and-disappearing-treasures/) that allows you to explore stunning destinations with a level of realism that’s hard to believe. Instead of watching travel videos or looking at pictures, you’re placed right in the middle of iconic locations. Whether it’s wandering through ancient ruins or enjoying the view from a tropical island, this experience is the closest thing to real travel without actually leaving home.

I’ve been exploring some of the major trends in web development, and one that stands out is serverless architecture. It's making a big difference by simplifying the way we build and scale apps. With serverless, developers don't have to worry about managing servers or scaling—they can focus on writing code while the platform handles the rest. It also helps reduce costs and ensures your app performs well under varying traffic loads.
This trend, along with others like AI, Jamstack, and Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), is shaping the way developers approach web projects in 2024. If you're interested in a deeper dive into how serverless fits into modern web development, I found an article that goes into more detail on this topic.
