Keyword difficulty is a metric that measures the effort it would take for your content to rank on the first page of Google for a certain keyword. In other words, if a keyword is difficult, then it would require a lot of time and attention on your part to see results.

Keyword difficulty is a metric used to determine how difficult it is rank for a keyword. Assessing keyword difficulty can help you determine whether or not it's worth your time and money to either: 1. Optimize an organic page for that keyword, or 2. Bid on that keyword in a Google Ads campaign

Keyword difficulty means taking time to optimise your keywords over search engines when you go for keyword research. You should do good keyword research on those that have low competitors. If you select highly competitive keywords, then it will take more time to optimize.

Simply way to describe Keyword difficulty is how many other websites are listed for the keyword in search results. If their are hundreds of millions of websites than the keyword difficulty is very high.
Example would be iphone apple will always rank number 1 than big companies that sell them will fill out the rest of results. If you use long tail keywords or search terms you might find one you can get listed for.
