Bounce rate of your website does effect seo. Search engines look at how long visitors stay on your site. If people leave after a few seconds search engines do not think content of your website is good or relevant to the keywords or search terms.

Bounce rate is not a ranking factor, but it indirectly affects SEO and your search rankings.

The high bounce rate will affect the dwell time, and a low time on site can affect your SEO. If your visitors are instantly clicking the back button after entering your page, Google might decrease your ranking.

Also, a reason behind the high bounce rate could be that your website is not mobile-friendly or takes a lot of time to load, which are ranking factors.

Bounce Rate is one of the important SEO ranking factors. It tells search engines about the quality of the landing page (and hence the website). Like if someone is coming to your blog and leaving without strolling to other pages, it suggests the search engines…. "Umm, maybe the landing page isn't very relevant to the visitors' search query.

Yes, bounce rate affects SEO. Think when you go for SEO and you have good visitors but many visitors are not staying on your website, then your bounce rate will increase and it is not good for your website.
