Keyword proximity is the distance between keywords, or more importantly, how close together the keywords are within a section of text.
It’s especially relevant with keyphrases containing multiple keywords — and if you’re following our advice and targeting long tail keywords, your phrases will have multiple words in them more often than not!
With a multi-word keyphrase, keyword proximity is how close together the words from that phrase appear in a given section of the page.

Keyword proximity is how close your keywords are to each other in content of your website. If keywords are far apart search engines might not think they have anything to do with each other. The order of keywords on your website can also change what search engines think

Keyword proximity in SEO refers to how close together keywords are to one another, or to another element on the website. There is a real art to nailing down keyword proximity within a body of text. The goal really isn’t to have all of your keywords within a close proximity, but it definitely is something to consider. One common piece of advice you will find is that the closer your key phrase is together within a piece of content, the more relevant that page might be Googlebot for that particular keyword or key phrase.

The keyword proximity refers to the distance between the search term's individual keywords. For example: a website contains the keywords that make up the search term “dentist Boston implant” in the heading “Your professional dentist in Boston; dental practice for minimally invasive implants”.

Keyword proximity is a measure of how close two keywords are to each other within a body of text. The closer the keywords are to each other, the higher the keyword proximity. Keyword proximity is often used as a ranking factor by search engines, in order to determine whether or not a piece of content is relevant to a particular search query. In general, the closer together two keywords are, the more likely it is that they are related to each other and thus, the more relevant the content is.
