Domain name extension is the last part of domain after the dot. The first part of any domain name should be keywords and describe what site is about. You buy domain name and web hosting and use keywords in the domain name. You use the extension to show what type of website it is. ,com is for personal and business websites or blogs. org is for organizations like non profits. You also have edu for education and even ones for each country or eu stands for European domain names.
