How to link to pages

I have been wundering for a while how to link pages. I know how to link pages but which would be best, linking to the full URL eg

1. Select the text that you want to turn into a link.
2. Control-click the selected text or object. Choose Add Link > Page.
3. Click the Page pop-up menu, then choose the page you want to link to.
4. Click Go to Page. The document jumps to the page.
