Have you ever had so much data you’re practically swimming in it? You might need a data lake!
A data lake is a storage system that stores data in its raw form until it’s needed for analysis or applications.
Data lakes store data using flat architecture, with files or objects. This differs from how data is usually stored in a data warehouse which may use hierarchy/tables.
It’s called a data lake because it’s an extremely large pool of data.

A data lake is a central storage repository that holds big data from many sources in a raw, granular format. It can store structured, semi-structured, or unstructured data, which means data can be kept in a more flexible format for future use. When storing data, a data lake associates it with identifiers and metadata tags for faster retrieval.
