Hey everyone, this is my first article here, so hopefully somebody can help.I run a small, but very quickly growing VPS company , and we are badly in need of some sort of NAS or something for our VPS network. We currently have 24TB of storage from a NAS made up of 24 1TB SCSI drives. My interest at this point is in backing everything up without spending a fortune to do it. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Rob

I recommend you get dedicated server and store your backup there.

What kind of backup does serverpoint provide?
How much does it cost?

A dedicated server specifically for backups would be a good idea. Not only that, maybe look into some remote backup companies where you can get some cloud space or something that is affordable.

I think that all webhosting companies should provide daily backups - it is a great plus for them.

Tape was the only thing that we had of reasonably backing up systems till just two years ago. But there are now very affordable disk storage tools in the market & great application to take benefits of disk as a backup interface.

Dedicated server is a good specifically for backups., You are not just looking at it in some remote backup company that can get something at an affordable price and perhaps some of the cloud space.

A good backup system is highly necessary. You need to have the one that provides good server option, affordable as well as those that keep remote files available.

It is essential to select a good back up system so that it can prove to be a good server. In fact, it is quite essential to make it affordable, while at the same time, remote files should also be available.

To create backups you can use file sharing protocol (SMB, NFS, FTP) or iSCSI protocol. Also, Data Replication allows the user to schedule tasks to copy data on a file-level to other areas. However, the solution used to build the storage for backup must be absolutely safe and ensure us the ability to restore our data in case of any hardware failure.
