I'm not sure that anybody who has commented has actually worked on a legacy system like this. "Just Dockerize it" is almost certainly not going to work. I can guarantee that this isn't truly a monolith. If you move it to the cloud and point DNS at it, 100 different back office processes are going to break. Somebody somewhere is running a server on a 15yo desktop tower under their desk calling the monolith which enables 100 other people to do their jobs. If it's really bad, the monolith calls the desktop, and shit starts breaking if the power in the office goes out for more than 12hrs.
