A 301 redirect is a permanent redirection from one URL to another. It is used when a webpage has moved to a new URL permanently, and you want to ensure that the link equity and traffic from the old page are transferred to the new one. This helps avoid broken links and maintain SEO rankings.

Saw this old thread and couldn’t resist adding that 301s are also handy during site cleanups, like merging thin pages or fixing messy URL structures. They keep things tidy without losing traffic. Has anyone here noticed how long search engines take to fully pass signals after a big batch of 301s? I’ve seen it vary a lot depending on the site size.

I’ve had good results nudging niche traffic by getting links placed through https://crowdo.net/reddit-link-building because they use high‑karma accounts and drop the links in threads that already make sense for the topic. The posts stuck around, and the mix of comments and upvotes looked natural, so the traffic felt way more engaged than what I got from typical backlink drops.
