If you’re struggling with Outlook Auto Reply not working (https://www.cigatisolutions.com/blog/outlook-automatic-reply-not-working/), it’s important to understand both the common causes and effective solutions to get your automatic responses back on track. This issue can stem from a variety of factors—incorrect Automatic Reply settings, outdated Outlook versions, conflicts with mailbox rules, synchronization problems with the Exchange server, or even corruption in your Outlook data files (PST/OST). Many users find that simply rechecking their settings or updating Outlook doesn’t resolve the problem, especially when underlying file corruption is involved. In such cases, using a professional recovery tool like Cigati Outlook Email Recovery (https://www.cigatisolutions.com/outlook-email-recovery/) can help identify and repair damaged Outlook data files that may be blocking automatic replies. For a comprehensive breakdown of why auto replies fail and how to fix them step by step, there’s an in-depth blog available that walks through all the key troubleshooting methods. Whether you’re dealing with rule conflicts, server errors, or corrupted mailbox files, understanding the causes and applying the right solutions will ensure your automatic replies work reliably whenever you need them.

Hi all,

I faced a similar issue with Outlook auto-reply not working, and while troubleshooting the settings, I also needed to extract a large number of attachments from older Outlook emails. Manually opening each message and saving the files was taking too much time, especially with attachments spread across different folders.

I ended up using SysTools PST Attachment Extractor (https://www.systoolsgroup.com/outlook-attachment-extractor.html) to extract attachments in bulk from Outlook data files. It helped me save the required files without going through emails one by one, while I could continue troubleshooting the actual auto-reply issue separately.

I hope you will it helpful in some or other way!

If you’re struggling with Outlook Auto Reply not working, it’s important to identify the underlying cause before choosing a solution. Automatic replies may fail because of incorrect settings, outdated Outlook versions, conflicting mailbox rules, Exchange or Microsoft 365 synchronization issues, or corruption within Outlook data files such as PST or OST. In many cases, checking the Automatic Replies settings or restarting Outlook may resolve the problem. However, if the issue is related to damaged Outlook data, basic troubleshooting may not be enough. This is where a dedicated recovery solution such as CubexSoft Outlook Converter (https://www.cubexsoft.com/outlook-export/) can be useful for examining and recovering data from corrupted Outlook files.
