You can view the contents of a PST file without importing it into Microsoft Outlook by using a standalone PST viewer such as MacSonik PST Viewer (https://www.macsonik.com/pst-viewer/). It lets you open and inspect PST files directly, without requiring Outlook to be installed.

Steps to View a PST File Without Outlook

Download and install MacSonik PST Viewer on your Mac or Windows computer.
Launch the application and click Add Outlook File to select the PST file.
The software loads the PST folder hierarchy, allowing you to browse folders such as Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts, Deleted Items, Contacts, and Calendars.
Select an email or other mailbox item to preview its contents, attachments, headers, and metadata.
Use the built-in search and filters to find emails by sender, recipient, subject, date range, or attachments.
If required, export selected mailbox data to formats such as PDF, EML, MSG, MBOX, CSV, or PST.

MacSonik states that its PST Viewer works independently of Outlook and can open healthy, orphaned, minimally corrupted, password-protected, and empty PST files. It also processes PST data locally rather than uploading it to external servers.
