First thing is to check out the purpose of your website. Is your website is going to be small with less resource or it is going to be a website which will contain huge data and resources? For small and new business, shared web hosting is great choice because of its cheap price. For example if the bandwidth is not monitored and changes made as required the hosting can become vey slow and unreliable.

Your ACTUAL needs. You might be excited by hosts that offer 5GB of storage space and 1000GB (1TB) of bandwidth for very low prices, but you should at the very least be wary of such companies. Besides the con issue, ask yourself - do you even need such large resources?
