But sometimes live chat for most websites isn't working. Specially when you need tech support. When you send them a chat message no one would reply.

Yes Live chat is very important feature of website.

cafcoll is right, i am also facing same problem and Now I feel If cant provide 24X7 support, Do not add live support, because it is iterating.......when not functioning .......

Yeah I know it sucks to always catch livechat agents while they are away. I think this can easily be avoided just by hiding the live chat buttons/interface whenever all agents are offline.

Another alternative is to just use online messnegers like msn, yahoo etc...
