PacificHost, a provider of Linux based, cPanel Shared and Reseller Hosting services announced earlier today that the company has shifted all of its shared and reseller servers to the mod_pagespeed module developed by Google. The module promises faster performance by optimizing the web pages and the resources on them. Additionally the company has started to offer a Money Back Guarantee that no longer restricts the time in which a client can receive a refund.

The Page Speed Mod was a project developed under google to help websites improve their latency. mod_pagespeed automates the application rules in Apache, HTML, CSS, Javascript and images which change dynamically depending on the content that is served. The software essentially categorizes the content that is being served to the end-user and minimizes the steps it takes the web server to deliver that content to the user.

PacificHost tested mod_pagespeed on a multitude of test servers to ensure it wouldn't conflict with any existing software or configurations on the production servers. The company is now using mod_pagespeed with custom filters that minimize the page speed on files utilizing HTML, CSS, Javascript and Images.

"After extensive testing we have finally deployed mod_pagespeed to our fleet of servers running Apache. Our client's have already started to see a modest speed increase in the loading time of their websites. We are glad to be ahead of the curve and remain a progressive company with our hosting services.” said PacificHost President & CEO, Thomas Perry.

With the addition of mod_pagespeed, PacificHost recently made a change to its Money Back Guarantee. Previously the company had a 45 day money back guarantee. This has been replaced with an Anytime Money Back Guarantee. The new Guarantee offers a full refund to the customer within the first 30 days of service, after that any unused months of service can be refunded at the clients request. PacificHost made this change to improve customer confidence in paying long term. The Anytime Money Back Guarantee was put in place to assure customers that they were not being locked into a long term contract.

What does it take to make you people respond to your customers? I had problems with my VPS site with Pacific Host, and I did not get any replies from my tech support tickets. The last straw was when my VPS went down completely for a full day, and nobody replied to the many support tickets I submitted. My sites were down for a full day. I lost revenue from my sites being down. I sent a ticket to terminate my account and issue me a refund for 9 months of my unused hosting plan. It's been a week now and nobody has responded to my follow up emails. I called billing and they promised that someone would get back to me, but that didn't happen either. What's going on with you people? You can't run a business like this. You are the worst host that I have had since I started my business on the internet in 1997. I am getting the Better Business Bureau involved with this since you people do not want to respond to my many attempts to resolve this issue by email and telephone.
