How does Page Rank benefit an online store?

If a small online business (ecommerce store) has a higher page rank, how does this benefit the store? We are currently at page rank 0 but working up to page rank 3-4. How will this affect us?

Generally a sites PR is useful if the site has blog's, forum's etc. If your site has has a blog or forum, having a good PR will definately help.

If you get your page rank up (by having more valuable links and important things) Google will list you higher on the search results when a search is made relevant to your store, which will help you be higher up than other competing companies and give you the edge to get more customers. Rank 0 most likely means your page has not even been analysed by Google, you may want to suggest it to its bot to review your page and calculate the page rank. Right now you will not even show up in search results so can only be spread by word of mouth or links on other web pages.

Might be good to get your website linked to on other websites to help it out.
