Photoshop is the best graphic design software according to my view. I am using this for all my webdesign, print and logo design works.

If you do not have experience in design, Microsoft Publisher would be a great fit for you. It offers a variety of options in creating designs. Adobe Creative Suite I would say is the best on the market, but it is expensive. If you are passionate to learn and cost isn't an issue, I would suggest Adobe Creative Suite. One last suggestion would be Print Shop Deluxe. Print Shop deluxe because it has many tools for making impressive text effects and image effects. It also allows for quicker publishing to the web.

Hope you find this information helpful!

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite for me. Cheaper than Adobe products, far more powerful and it imports/exports to and from all major Adobe formats anyway.
