How long does it take for the PageRank update?

I hate when I wait eagerly for the process, and that's fine with me. On my side, I waited a very long time, PageRank Update, and it is very disheartening to know that there is still no change. You can update the PR of my site that takes Google a long time and I do not like it at all does not know. Dear its totally depends on Google...
I don't know what is its process...
Last year it do updation 3 times...but in current year its only one time in 6 months...
I also waiting its next updating...

well as i understood it, up until about 6 months ago their was no schedule for the PR updated, it just happened when it happened but i read somewhere recently that google are to start new schedules for reindex's every 2-3 weeks, and a PR update every 3 months. Feel free to correct me if im wrong, but i read it on sitepro news i think!

Generally people are talking that PR is updating in every 3 months but i think it is wrong because PR update is totally depend on Google. If they want they can update PR within 3,6 or 12 months.
