A form of online advertising on the World Wide Web that is intended to attract web traffic or capture email addresses is the pop-up ad or pop-ups. To display advertisements, it works well when certain websites open a new web browser window. Though it can be generated by other means too, the pop-up window that contains an advertisement is normally created by JavaScript. The first major browser that could incorporate tools to block pop-up ads was Opera. By blocking the pop-ups that were created as the page loads, Mozilla browser later improved on this setup. What do you know about pop-up ads?

Most pop-up ads are Javascript applications that open a new browser window containing new content. The new window appears on top of your current view, obscuring the Web page you actually want to see.
