What is difference between dynamic sitemap and static sitemap

Hi,
I have question for you all,
What is difference between dynamic sitemap and static sitemap?
Why we use dynamic and static sitmap?
Please guide me.

A static sitemap is manually update when webmaster update and dynamic sitemap is automatically change when you add and remove web pages.

Dynamic Site Map is good for future changes in website. static sitemap have to re generate while website has more pages or deleting pages.
