Search Engine Optimization is no longer only for websites. In order to be competitive in your niche, it is important to optimize for a mobile site. With evolving smartphone technology, optimizing your mobile site can and will drive traffic to your business.
A recent study revealed that people were beginning to spend more time on their phones than on their computers; mobile searches are becoming more popular than desktop searches. Though SEOs are not necessarily a part of this statistic, the companies whose websites we optimize should take notice.

when designing a mobile site or even if you just want have your mobile domain available for future scalability, try to own your mobile domain. Consider getting a dotmobi domain. A .mobi domain is a top level domain approved by ICANN that is restricted for mobile devices and sites.

Mobile searchers (featurephone and smartphone) had a clickthrough rate of 29.9% overall. When looking at brand-loyal searches for their most relevant category, the CTR for mobile searchers was as high as 52.03% (compared to 9% for brand-loyal desktop searchers in the same category).

Here are some basic tips from me.

Don’t Ignore Mobile Keywords:- If you’re not yet using the Google Mobile Keyword tool to incorporate mobile search volume into the keyword research for your digital content, be it your desktop site or mobile site, you are ignoring 10% of Google’s total query volume.

Develop mobile site in HTML5 for smartphone and tablet users:- Site should be text-based, with enough keyword-rich text to convey the relevance of the page to search engines. Use progressive enhancement mobile design strategy to ensure content is accessible to feature phone users and search engines. Mobile boilerplate is a standards-based HTML5 template for creating mobile web apps that works well for optimized mobile sites.

Create mobile sitemap for mobile-specific content:- It’s not necessary to put trans-coded pages in the mobile sitemap. Some research indicates that mobile sitemaps could help with faster indexing and ranking of mobile sites.

This isn’t a mobile-specific rule, but if you’ve been doing this long enough to remember when SEO was new, you should know by now to test everything. Best practices are fine, and certain experts are fairly reliable, but when you remember that many mobile SEO best practices are based on a pre-iPhone mobile search world, you find that some of them are not currently relevant.

Mobile SEO is often treated like a very different animal when it’s compared to the more standard SEO practices we’ve come to accept when creating online content. Now that you’ve started to master search engine optimization practices for the Internet, it’s time to master a whole new skill named mobile SEO.

Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and many, many other sites you find on the Web can also be found on the mobile Web -- mobile-enabled versions of the sites you’re probably already familiar with using. There is often a distinction between mobile sites and their computer-viewable counterparts. For instance, Google has two versions of itself - the one you’ll find on the Internet, and the one you’ll find on the mobile Internet.

Thanks Mesasa. I am really agree with your suggestions. Main point which you cover "CSS Based Website" This is really very important. Else are most common factors, but CSS Based Development should be very seriously and validated.
