Yes if you want to do a permanent redirection then 301 is perfect otherwise for a temporary redirection you can go for 302 redirection.

This is simple code to add in the .htaccess file in root directory of your CPanel

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^site1.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.site1.com$
RewriteRule (.*)$ http://www.site2.com/$1 [R=301,L]
</IfModule>

Simply change your site1 to the site you want to redirect. And site2 with the site where you want to redirect.

Yes, it is. 301 redirect is key to maintaining a website's domain authority and search rankings when the site's URL is changed for any reason. It easily sends visitors and search engines to a different URL than the one they originally entered into their browser or selected from a search engine result. To perform 301 redirect with Htaccess editor (https://wpvivid.com/how-to-edit-htaccess-file-and-insert-301-redirects.html) is the easier way for beignners.

BTW question is not about what is the code for 301 redirections, it is all about it is useful or not? And, the OP is provided the Digital Marketing and SEO services and having no Idea about 301 redirects is useful or not?

There are 2 types of redirection codes 301 and 302.
301 is used for permanent redirection means you want to redirect any website/webpage to another website/webpage permanently.
302 code is used if you want to redirect your webpage/website users to another website/webpage temporarily for short time.
It depends upon your requirement and use can use any code.
301 redirection is most famous in SEO as if we redirect any webpage with 301 redirection then it will pass the webpage authority benefits/link juice to new page.

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect. This is the most commonly used and powerful redirect as it passes on nearly all of the link juice of the existing domain. This type of redirect takes place on both a browser and server level. In time, the search engines will index this redirect.

There are 2 ways of redirect, Please have a look:
1- A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect. This is the most commonly used and powerful redirect as it passes on nearly all of the link juice of the existing domain (http://easy.gr/en/).

2- A 302 redirect is used when you want to temporarily redirect a URL, but you have the intention of moving back to the old URL.

There are three redirect options: 301,302 and Meta Refresh

301 redirect is a permanent redirect because it passes on nearly all the link juice of the existing domain. This redirect takes place on both levels, browser and server.
302 are used when you want to redirect temporarily but you have the intention to moving back to the old URL.
Suppose you’re redesigning your site and want to direct users to a different domain while you finish building site.
Meta fresh is used on page loading screens. A message like “Click here. If you’re not redirected in 5 seconds”. This experience is a Meta refresh.

301, "Moved Permanently"

The HTTP response status code 301 Moved Permanently is used for permanent URL redirection, meaning current links or records using the URL that the response is received for should be updated. The 301 response from the Web server should always include an alternative URL to which redirection (http://net-informations.com/q/mis/redirect.html) should occur. If it does, a Web browser will immediately retry the alternative URL. This is the best way to ensure that users and search engines are directed to the correct page. The 301 status code means that a page has permanently moved to a new location.

Yes, it is true. When we change the URL of our website or page then we use 301 redirects. So we can say that the website moves from one domain to another.

1. Log in to your GoDaddy account.

2. Click Web Hosting.

3. Next to the account you want to use, click Manage.

4. From the Settings menu, select URL Redirects.

5. Click the New Redirect button.

6. Enter the domain from your account you want to redirect. If you want to redirect all of the domains in your hosting account, check the All domains on this account. Otherwise, enter the directories containing the sites you want to redirect in the Path field.

7. Select whether or not you want all instances of your site with or without www.

8. Click Next.

9. Select if the destination site is http or https and enter the domain name you want to redirect to, as well as the path, if applicable. If the path box is left blank, it will redirect to the root of the domain you entered.

10. Click Next. The Type window appears.

11. Select which kind of redirect you want to use.

If you want to use your domain name to the shared hosting account, then you need to point the domain name A record to the shared hosting server IP address (in this case your domain directly serve the website without redirection)
