Hi..

Here are the disadvantages of Static Web Design
1 . Expensive to update
2 . More work required on pages with same information (For example address on one page can be updated on every page which has a address)
3 . you as a site owner can not add any content without knowing HTML and CSS.

I think you are referring to a site without any CMS (content management system). We use to not include any CMS in our sites. Now we offer CMS whether the client ever uses it or not.

The main disadvantage of a static website is the cost. It is very costly to update. The hosting and maintenance cost is too high if you have a large no. of pages on the website which are static and stored at server. It is very slow to develop. It is difficult to keep it up-to-date. The other disadvantage is that as a site owner you cannot add any content or make modification without having good knowledge of HTML and other programming language in which your website is built.

I also think you are mentioning a website without any CMS (content administration system). We use to not involve any CMS in our websites. Now we provide CMS whether the consumer ever uses it or not.
