i think it should be between 500 to 800 will count as a quality & rich content for perfect article..

Definitely 500 to 800 would be perfect length of article. Choose perfect category for article is also important. Before submit your article into article directory, make sure about Title, Tag and signature are at it's perfects place or not.

My articles typically run 1000 words... and sometimes I get e-mails that they are too short!

I'd say it depends on the topic... sometimes 600 words is way more than needed for the subject, sometimes 1200 doesn't do it justice.

Hi Ken. Sometime it can be happened. Because of some directories can't allowed less than 1000 characters article. I also get notifications like you. But overall 500/600 characters of site are best for the article content.

Hi, it depends on topic which you choose.. Also, it depends on Directories.. Because, some directories allows long articles and some short..

Most article submission sites will accept articles of 500 words, this is the norm, other may require a little more or a little less than that. it all depends. Make sure your article is written well and you will find your article being accepted and links being given to your site for its keyword.
